It’s that time of year when Call of Duty fans prepare for the beta. The Modern Warfare 4 beta has a lot of content in store across two weekends.
The Modern Warfare 4 developers are Infinity Ward, and this is their first Call of Duty release since Modern Warfare 2 back in 2022.
Modern Warfare 4 beta dates
To get Early Access to the Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta, you must place a pre-order on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, or PC via Battle.net or Steam, or redeem a beta code. The Early Access beta kicks off on August 21 at 11am PT, immediately after the Call of Duty NEXT livestream, which is expected to give a first in-depth look at Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer. It will then go offline on August 25 until the Open Beta begins.
As for the Open Beta, players on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2, will be able to get a taste of Modern Warfare 4 starting on August 28 at 10am PT, until it ends on September 1. No pre-order is required to participate in this Open Beta weekend.
The Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta gives players hands-on experience across a variety of maps and modes, including core 6v6 and the new Kill Block mode. For the first time, the Open Beta will contain the single-player Campaign mission “Entrenched,” while Ground War: Combat Outpost and the upcoming Zodiac Resurgence map in Call of Duty: Warzone will also make their debuts.
For levelling up in the Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta, you’ll earn the following rewards that will carry over to the full game:
- Level 4 – “Through the Paces” Legendary Emblem
- Level 8 – “First Served” Weapon Charm
- Level 12 – “Meonjeo” Legendary Weapon Sticker
- Level 16 – “Last Charge” Legendary Calling Card
- Level 20 – “Dread Tiger” Operator Skin – Reece
- Level 23 – “Field Tested” Epic Spray
- Level 26 – “Beta Rights” Epic Loading Screen
- Level 30 – “Beta Forged” ISO Nightshade Weapon Blueprint
There will be more rewards up for grabs, but what they are and their requirements are yet to be revealed.
