After over a decade in the wild, Battlefield Hardline will be delisted from Xbox One and PlayStation 4 stores, and the plug will be pulled on its online services on the same platforms.
Battlefield Hardline always seems to appear at the top of the list when it comes to the most disliked Battlefield series entries. Mainly, this is because it switched up the beloved large-scale combat formula in favour of a cops and robbers experience, where multiplayer modes meant hunting criminals, raiding vaults, and saving hostages.
Battlefield Hardline waves goodbye to consoles
The official Battlefield Comms account confirmed the news on X, stating:
“On Friday, May 22nd, Battlefield Hardline on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be removed from digital storefronts, and you will no longer be able to purchase it and all extra related content, such as DLC.
Online services on these platforms will end on Monday, June 22nd. While Hardline will no longer support online functionality on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, players who own the game will still be able to play the single-player component.”

However, PC players won’t be impacted by the change, as Battlefield Hardline on PC will remain available, online services included. At this stage, it’s unknown if a PC shutdown will happen at a later date.
Elsewhere, EA also shut down Anthem on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the EA App in January 2026, while more games are set to receive the same treatment, such as Apex Legends closing its doors on Nintendo Switch in August 2026.
No matter your opinion on Battlefield Hardline, it’s still another loss in an industry that desperately needs preservation.
