Oblivion Remastered update 1.2 – Journeyman difficulty and gameplay improvements

oblivion remastered 1.7 update

Bethesda has released update 1.2 for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, currently in Steam beta and coming soon to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles.

The main highlight of the update is the new Journeyman mode, making the experience accessible for even more players. A batch of bug fixes also arrives to continue to iron out the game.

What’s new in Oblivion Remastered with update 1.2?

The latest update to Oblivion Remastered introduces a new difficulty setting called Journeyman, although its initial roll out is in beta. Journeyman is designed to offer a balanced challenge focused specifically on Player Combat Damage and Enemy Combat Damage. Thanks to this addition, players can now choose from six difficulty levels: Novice, Apprentice, Adept, Journeyman, Expert, and Master. The Journeyman difficulty fills a gap for players who feel that Adept is too simplistic, but find Expert far too punishing, offering a middle ground for more rewarding combat encounters.

As previously mentioned, Oblivion Remastered update 1.2 is still in Steam beta. To access the beta branch, all you have to do is:

  • Open your Steam Library and navigate to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
  • Right click on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and select “Properties”
  • In the pop-up window, select “Betas”
  • In the drop down menu, select “\[beta]”
  • Wait for app to download the new build and then launch
