With the arrival of the highly-anticipated Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 remake, Ubisoft has opted to “tip its helmet to a legend.” Riders Republic got its Skate add-on a while back, and this week, players can put it to good use with a whole list of events dedicated to the sport.
Sets and decks
“Skate Fest” is the name of the game this week in the Republic, with various events that will test each rider’s metal when it comes to pulling off tricks and kicking through combos. No doubt, it’s timing coinciding with the release of a new Tony Hawk title is no mere coincidence.
Granted, both games do feel very different from one another. Not to mention, Riders Republic has a lot more to offer than just skateboarding, such as its new Pockett Plane and Pockett Hovercraft add-ons which just arrived a few weeks ago. That said, some Republic players have recreated classic Pro Skater levels with the game’s creation tools, including The Hangar and Warehouse. You can try them with LAB code “MGHRUM” for The Hangar, and “D7PNMY” for the Warehouse.
For those that don’t already own the Skate add-on for Riders Republic, the devs have slashed its price down by 75%, allowing anyone to grab a board on the cheap. The add-on includes its own Career mode that will take players throughout The Deck skate park, along with other parks dotted around the Republic.
As for the OG, the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 remake has launched on all platforms, including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. It features most of the tracks and skaters from the two original games, along with some new content to make up for what wasn’t re-included.
So far, reviews have been very positive, coming in close to the already beloved remakes of Pro Skater 1 & 2 which launched a few years ago.
