Schedule 1 is back on Steam in Australia

schedule 1 back on Steam in Australia region

Hit indie title, Schedule 1 was taken down from the Steam store in Australia just months ago. Many believed the game had been banned due to its content, but it was later revealed that it needed to go through an age verification process before it could be relisted in the region.

Schedule 1 sees you take your knowledge of drug dealing to a fresh town, so it’s time to do what you know best, get Hyland Point hooked on your product. Discover recipes, expand your empire, and avoid law enforcement.

Due to countries having different laws around media that represents these topics, perhaps such a road block isn’t unexpected.

Back to business

In May, Schedule 1 was hidden on Steam in Australia, while it remained live across the globe. Solo developer, Tyler indicated on X that “it turns out all games sold in Australia need to receive a classification/age rating (I thought this was only required for console and physical releases.)”

Tyler has since contacted Australia’s ratings agency to get the issue resolved and now, Schedule 1 is back on the Steam store in Australia, once again.

Schedule 1 Australia Steam

Schedule 1‘s return to Steam in Australia has come just in time for the game’s next big content update, expected to arrive this month. Not so long ago, fans had the opportunity to vote for the next major Schedule 1 update. The options were the introduction of rival Cartels, a new product in Shrooms, or a Police Expansion. The conclusion of the in-game vote resulted in Cartel Wars coming out on top with the majority of the vote.

After a brief delay, Australian players can now start their narcotics business in Schedule 1.
