Three years after launch and 25 million players later, support for Minecraft Dungeons wound down in 2023. However, the action-adventure game is making a comeback with Minecraft Dungeons 2, as announced during Minecraft Live in March 2026. There are two Minecraft Dungeons 2 editions, with bonuses on offer for those who place a pre-order.
When the Minecraft Dungeons developers released their final update for the original game in September 2023, Mojang explained that the “team has now moved on to new projects that continue to explore experiences in the Minecraft universe. This means that there are no new features or content updates planned for the game.”

Minecraft Dungeons 2 editions and pre-order bonuses
Placing a pre-order of the Minecraft Dungeons 2 Standard Edition (£24.99/$29.99) grants the following items at launch:

- Two Hero Skins
- Twisted Cape
- Twisted Chicken Pet
The Standard Edition of Minecraft Dungeons 2 will be available via a Game Pass Ultimate subscription on day one.
There’s also a Minecraft Dungeons 2 Deluxe Edition (£44.99/$49.99), featuring the following pre-order bonuses:
- Minecraft Dungeons 2 base game
- Two DLCs, which will unlock as they are released
- Minecraft Launcher
- Four Hero Skins
- Two Additional Hero Skins
- Twisted Cape
- Soul Cape
- Twisted Chicken Pet

As for Minecraft Dungeons 2 platforms, it will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
You will be able to hop into the sequel to the popular dungeon-crawler with expanded weapons, new enemies, and features from the first game when Minecraft Dungeons 2 hits storefronts on September 29, 2026.
