Deep Rock Galactic is a co-op first-person shooter and to fight off hoards of cave bugs, you’ll have to choose the right dwarf to take on the terrors of the underground caves. Whether you main Scout, Driller, Engineer, or Gunner, you can promote your characters in Deep Rock Galactic.
Promoting your characters can be hard work, but that work doesn’t come without reward.
How to promote a character in Deep Rock Galactic
Before you can promote your dwarf, you’ll have to reach level 25 on the class you want to promote. You’ll then have to complete a Promotion Assignment to prove that you’re worthy of a promotion. You can activate the Promotion Assignment via the Assignment Board when you reach level 25.
Once you’ve completed all the tasks on the Promotion Assignment, you need to head to the Memorial Hall while you’re in a lobby alone. The Memorial Hall is on the top floor of the Space Rig.
You’ll find a terminal at the end of the Memorial Hall which is where you can promote your character for a fee.
Once you make your first promotion, you’ll unlock:
- An Honor Badge
- An active Perk Slot (one per class)
- 1 Blank Matrix Core, 1 Infused Core, 1 Matrix Core cosmetic
- Level reset and increase Player Rank for Prestige Assignments
- Activate Machine Events with the Tritilyte Key for all classes
- Breach The Core and the Weekly Core Hunt assignments
- Gain access to Deep Dives and The Forge
As you promote, you’ll get a star above your player icon, to a maximum of three stars. After the fourth promotion to a single class, you can level up your border from Bronze, all the way to Legendary.
Eventually, you’ll be able to evolve your dwarves and gameplay to greybeard status. Rock and Stone, miners!
