Call of Duty Season 04 is finally here. Eagle-eyed MW2 and Warzone 2 fans might’ve realised that Season 04 is scheduled to end early.
Season 04 is one of the biggest updates in a while. Fans have seen the arrival of the highly anticipated Vondel map. There are two new weapons ready and waiting to be unlocked and much needed changes have been made to health, AI and much more. In terms of multiplayer, new maps have joined the rotation, as well as notable spawn adjustments to Himmelmatt Expo and Breenburgh Hotel.
MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 04 end date is much earlier than expected
A season usually lasts around 10 weeks, with the Reloaded update arriving at week 5. However, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 04 is expected to last only 48 days, as indicated by the in-game countdown on the battle pass screen. This means that the mid-season update is expected to arrive in just three to four weeks time, with Season 04 coming to a close on August 2.
A shorter season could be a positive sign as we will get fresh content and further improvements sooner rather than later. However, it does mean that you have less time to work through the Season 04 battle pass.
It will be interesting to see what direction Activision decide to go in with Season 05. With that being said, its expected that Season 05 will be the final season before the launch of the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise.
