In Mr Trippy, you’re the owner of an ordinary-looking ice cream truck, but you have more than sweet treats for sale. In development at indie studio Silver Bullet, and published by Silver Lining Interactive, simple ice cream truck simulation has been combined with drugs.
Mr Trippy appears as if it’s an ordinary management game, fulfilling ice cream orders from customers who will visit your truck, complete with all the toppings. Under the surface, you’re actually running an illegal drugs business, serving customers who are looking for a boost. Choco-Laced Chill, for example, is chocolate ice cream with pills, while Baked Alaska is vanilla ice cream topped with a spliff.
Narcotics on wheels
As you grow your business through making sales, you will be able to expand to fresh neighbourhoods, which means attracting new customers with different tastes to accommodate. Resultingly, you’ll have the opportunity to obtain new recipes and expand your influence to make your ice cream truck the most-talked-about secret in town.
Standing in the way of your shady workings are the police. Local police officers and undercover agents are watching your every move. You must learn their patterns and make sure to keep an eye on your Heat Meter to avoid suspicion, or you will feel the full force of the law.
You’ll be raking in buckets-full of cash (literally), so you’ll have to use local businesses to launder your earnings, such as Legit Laundry. With the cash you earn, you’ll be able to improve your business, as well as make vehicle upgrades and customize your ride with different truck and rim colours, and a vehicle topper.
The Mr Trippy release date is yet to be announced, but it’s available to wishlist on Steam. A first look at the vibrant and wacky world has been shown off in a game reveal trailer.
