civilization 6 difficulty levels Tsar Peter

Civilization 6 is the latest game in the award winning franchise which sees you go against historical leaders in turn-based strategy. The difficulty level in Civilization 6 can be adjusted depending on how much of a challenge you’re willing to take on.

The difficulty you assign to a game will dictate what bonuses the player and the AI will get.

All Civilization 6 difficulty levels

There are eight difficulty levels in Civilization 6 which are:

  • Settler
  • Chieftain
  • Warlord
  • Prince
  • King
  • Emperor
  • Immortal
  • Deity

The easiest level is Settler, with Prince being the default difficulty and Deity being the most challenging way to play the game.

From Prince onwards, the AI will be handed certain bonuses and the higher the difficulty level, the higher the bonuses the AI will receive. Since you won’t have the same bonuses to work with, you’ll be starting on the backfoot, meaning you’ll have to outsmart the AI to be the first to achieve a victory condition.

Here are the AI and player bonuses depending on the difficulty you play on.
