Almost a year to the day Avowed launched on PC and Xbox, PlayStation players will get their turn in February 2026. It’s the latest game to lose its exclusivity, after long-time Xbox games have already jumped ship to other platforms such as Sea of Thieves and Forza.
Avowed is set in the fictional world of Eora and is a first-person fantasy action RPG. A mysterious plague is infiltrating the lands and you are sent to investigate, but your mission will run much deeper as you progress.
Avowed features diverse weaponry, from swords, spells, and guns. In relation to spells, they trap, freeze or burn enemies, or you can simply bash them with your shield, or use bows to attack from a distance. Companions from various species will fight by your side, wielding their own unique set of abilities. From a former mercenary to a wizard, your choices impact them as you complete their quests.
Avowed PS5 release date and pre-orders
In a blog post, Obsidian announced thatĀ more players will join the fray, as AvowedĀ is officially coming to PlayStation 5. Avowed will be available on PS5 on February 17, 2026. Pre-orders are live on the PlayStation store, with theĀ Standard EditionĀ priced at $49.99, and theĀ Premium EditionĀ costing $59.99.
The Avowed Standard Edition is the base game, but the Premium Edition comes with the following bonuses:
- Two player armours
- Eight companion skins
- Digital artbook and soundtrack
To celebrate the aforementioned Avowed anniversary, the game will receive a content update. This will introduce New Game Plus, a new weapon type, character features, more Godlike feature presets, a photo mode, and so much more.
