Deus Ex Remastered has been hit with a delay after the reveal trailer didn’t sit well with fans for not looking up to scratch, to put it lightly.
The original Deus Ex was released in 2000 and was a groundbreaking cyberpunk dystopia. The remaster is expected to bring visual upgrades, modern enhancements, and quality-of-life improvements for a new wave of players. Everything from re-imagined lighting, dynamic shadows, water physics, and new character models is meant to make the game more immersive than ever. At least that’s what’s supposed to happen.
Deus Ex Remastered delay announced
An update posted by Deus Ex Remastered developer Aspyr on X reads:
“Thank you to the community for your feedback following the reveal of Deus Ex Remastered. We’ve listened to what you had to say, and in order to better meet fan expectations and deliver the best possible experience for players, Deus Ex Remastered will no longer launch on February 5, 2026. We look forward to sharing more updates with you when the time comes.”
No new release window was shared for Deus Ex Remastered, and as a result, all existing pre-orders are being refunded.
The uncertainty around the Deus Ex series continues, after 2024 saw Embracer Group officially cancel a new Deus Ex game that was in development for around two years. Now, this indefinite delay calls in to question the state of the remaster, and it’s unknown when fans can expect more details to be shared on its progress.
