Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is rolling out across the globe, bringing with it a new multiplayer and Zombies experience. As always, there are private matches allowing you to play with your friends or scratch that kick-off tournament itch. However, a Ninja perk bug is causing problems early on in Black Ops 6 private matches.
Audio is a key component in finding success in Call of Duty, especially in competitive matches. In Black Ops 6, enemy footsteps are loud, but the Ninja perk counters that by allowing players to move quietly. Since the perk is bugged, it isn’t working as intended, meaning players can hear your every move.
While we wait for a fix, there is a relatively easy workaround method that you can use in the meantime to ensure your footsteps are concealed.
Black Ops 6 Ninja perk bug fix
To make sure the Ninja perk works as intended in Black Ops 6 private matches, you must switch to a different loadout and then switch back to the loadout you want to use which has the Ninja perk equipped. If you’re playing Search and Destroy, you’ll have to switch to a different loadout and then change back to your Ninja loadout between each round.
It’s worth noting that this glitch appears to be exclusive to custom games, so Ninja shouldn’t cause you any issues in public matches.
Treyarch are yet to respond to this particular bug, but the team is already hard at work on making fixes across the game. Hopefully, that’s a sign of what’s to come and the issue will be addressed sooner rather than later.
