Christmas has potentially come early for Hogwarts Legacy fans, with rumours circulating that a Definitive Edition or DLC is in the works. Apart from a summer patch, Hogwarts Legacy hasn’t received any major updates since. However, a whole new set of quests and additional content could be on the way.
As of late, it has been no secret that Warner Bros. have been struggling due to the failure of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. In August of this year, Warner Bros. themselves revealed that $200 million was lost on the game. Whether or not a Hogwarts Legacy DLC will allow Warner Bros. to redeem themselves, only time will tell.
The story continues
According to Insider Gaming, a Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition is in development. It’s believed that the content will be sold as a separate DLC as an add-on for owners of the base game and have around 10-15 hours of new content.
The specifics on when a Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition will be released and its price point are still up in the air. With that said, Insider Gaming note that some of their sources have suggested that it could release in 2025, with a price tag ranging from $20 to $30.
Due to the success that Hogwarts Legacy found when it hit storefronts back in February 2023, it wouldn’t be surprising if a DLC or Definitive Edition is in the works. The game sold 12 million units in its first two weeks and even now remains in the top 10 best selling games of 2024 in the United States.
If Warner Bros. are indeed aiming for a 2025 release date, an official announcement shouldn’t be too far away.
