The Black Ops 6 beta is live and fans of the franchise can get a taste of what’s to come when the game fully launches in October. The gunsmith is back and so are weapon levels and if you’ve found this to be a tad too slow in Black Ops 6, adjustments are on their way.
Although the weapon pool is small in the beta, there are plenty of levels to work through. Since some of the best attachments are unlocked at the higher weapon levels, you’ll definitely want to max out your favourite guns.
Incoming Black Ops 6 Weapon XP changes
Associate Director over at Treyarch, Lawrence Metten replied to a post on X concerning weapon levelling being on the slower side. Metten revealed that the team will be “buffing Weapon XP for Weekend 2. The current Weapon Levelling speeds are slower than intended.”
The fact that weapon levelling is slower than intended suggests that it’s down to a bug within the beta, rather than the way the system works in Black Ops 6.
As stated, the Weapon XP buffs won’t go live until the second weekend of the Black Ops 6 beta. Weekend 2 is an Open Beta available to all players and it will begin on Friday September 6 at 10am PT, and end on Monday September 9 at 10am PT. A beta code isn’t required to participate in this wave of the beta.
Going into the second phase of the beta, we can also expect further updates in the form of new maps and further fixes.
