After two delays already, Prison Architect 2’s release date has been halted yet again to allow the developers more time to improve the game.
Paradox has had a rough run recently, with Cities: Skylines 2 experiencing numerous issues and a delays to the roll out of mod support. In an attempt to prevent history from repeating itself, Prison Architect 2 has been delayed for an unspecified amount of time.
Prison Architect 2 remains locked away
In an announcement, Paradox revealed that Prison Architect 2 will no longer launch on September 3, as the team “need more time to improve both the game’s performance and its content.” Although the developers remain confident in the game, it’s unknown when fans will get their hands on the sequel.
“At this stage, we can’t commit to a new release date as we need to re-assess the scope of the work needed to be done before the game is release-ready,” says Paradox. Over the next few months, we will focus on improving the game and building a more robust release timeline. This also means we will be limiting our communication with you all until we have a timeline we feel comfortable with.”
Since the delay is indefinite, the decision has been made to cancel all pre-orders and add the pre-order bonuses to the base game at launch. The pre-order items tied to the base game were three K9 skins, while the Wardens Edition also featured:
- K9 skins
- Warden Skins and Desk
- Captain Sandens
- Rahul Banks
- Professor Yung
- Nina Barros
- Warden’s Rug
- Warden’s Desk
- Warden’s Wallpaper
Those who placed a pre-order on any platform will receive a refund automatically, but it may take a few weeks to process.
