Summer Games Fest 2024 was action packed with announcements from across the industry and Civilization fans got a first look at the next title, fittingly named Sid Meier’s Civilization 7. Later this month, Civilization 7 will get a gameplay reveal, granting players a look behind the curtain at what Firaxis Games has been working on.
Sid Meier’s Civilization 6 released back in 2016 and received multiple DLCs which brought new leaders and gameplay features to empires. Although the Civilization 7 trailer was merely confirmation that a new game is on its way, the deep dive will go into the specifics.
How to watch the Civilization 7 gameplay reveal
The very first Civilization 7 gameplay trailer will be shown at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20. The broadcast which will feature the upcoming entry to the Civilization series will begin at 11:00am PT / 8:00pm CEST and you can tune in live over on the official Gamescom Twitch channel.
That’s not all, as fans will be treated to a gameplay showcase, where the developers will show off “exclusive insights from the development team about this revolutionary new chapter in the franchise, including our vision for the game as well as its innovative new features.” This will take place directly after Gamescom Opening Night Live at 1:30pm PT / 10:30pm CEST on the Firaxis Games Twitch channel. The stream is expected to feature over 20 minutes of gameplay details.
This is just the beginning of Civilization 7 and there will undoubtedly be plenty more details (and turns to be taken) ahead of the game’s 2025 launch window.
