Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is here which means there’s a brand new weapon pool to familiarise yourself with. The Rival-9 is currently the best submachine gun to have in your MW3 loadouts, that’s if you’re using the correct attachments.
So far, assault rifles are taking over the battlefield, with the SVA 545, Holger 556, and MCW shining. As a submachine gun player at heart, I am disappointed that they aren’t packing a punch in quite the same way.
However, this Rival-9 class focuses on recoil control and raising the gun’s power at range.
MW3 Rival-9 loadout attachments
- Muzzle: Bruen Pendulum
- Underbarrel: Bruen Pivot Vertical Grip
- Stock: MTZ Marauder Stock
- Rear Grip: Rival Vice Assault Grip
- Ammunition: 9mm High Grain Rounds
First up is the Bruen Pendulum muzzle which gets your loadout off to a strong start with increased vertical and horizontal recoil control. By equipping the Bruen Pivot Vertical Grip underbarrel, you’ll experience improved gun kick control, vertical recoil control, better aiming idle sway, and added firing aim stability. Pairing this with the MTZ Marauder Stock will further enhance your gun kick control, firing aim stability, and weapon sway. As a result, you’ll have a submachine gun that is able to lock on to your opponents with laser accuracy.
The Rival Vice Assault Grip will round off your accuracy and recoil, while the 9mm High Grain Rounds boost bullet velocity and damage range, giving the Rival-9 more potential at range.
We are just days into MW3’s life-cycle, so the loadouts will evolve as the meta is discovered and weapon balancing updates are deployed. We will update this article if there are any changes to this class.
