The Game Awards has become the most prestigious awards show for the industry over the last few years. We now have the nominations for various categories, but the Game of the Year is by far the most anticipated. The official Game of the Year 2023 nominees have been announced and the list will hardly come as a surprise for most.
I’d argue that 2023 was not one of, but the best year for video game releases of all time. This year has been action packed, with a range of AAA titles and outstanding indie titles making their debut.
The Game of the Year 2023 nominees are…
- Alan Wake 2 (Remedy Entertainment/Epic Games)
- Baldur’s Gate 3 (Larian Studios)
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (Insomniac Games)
- Resident Evil 4 (Capcom)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder (Nintendo)
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Nintendo)
Although the list does its job by capturing the best titles of the year, you can easily make the claim that other titles deserve to be contenders for the awards. Hogwarts Legacy hasn’t received a nomination in any category at The Game Awards, while Starfield’s only nomination is for best RPG.
If you want to have your say on who should win Game of the Year 2023 and vote in almost 30 other categories, you can do so by signing up or logging into The Game Awards fan voting webpage, here.
The Game Awards will be streamed live from LA on December 7, 2023, at 7:30pm ET/12:30am BST. You can tune in on The Game Awards official YouTube or Twitch channels.
