The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is solely focused on multiplayer, so having crossplay is essential by today’s standards. However, the developers recently announced the temporary removal of crossplay between PC and console players.
Unfortunately, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has been riddled with cheaters ever since the game launched. Although the team are making efforts to combat them, nothing seems to be enough. Cheaters are the reason behind crossplay being disabled, confining PC players to their own platform.
When will PC crossplay return to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre?
Brand Strategy Lead at Gun Interactive answered a fan who asked for an estimate on how long PC players will be separated from console lobbies. This was the response:
“We aim to have PC rejoin the cross play pool as soon as possible. We have some more work to do first, in coordination with our partners at EAC, and will then be able to run a simple patch to the PC platform only that will add them back in.
Unfortunately I cannot give a date for that yet, as that work is ongoing.”
This means Xbox and PlayStation users will still be able to party up, but it’s disappointing for those who play with friends across consoles and PC. Remember, the change is temporary, so we’ll only be saying a short farewell to those on PC.
It’s likely that matchmaking on PC will take a little longer due to this decision. According to Steam Charts, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre peaked at a mere 17,141 PC players in the last 30 days.
All we can do while we wait for PC crossplay to return to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is hope that the developers can achieve their goal of improving their anti-cheat tools.
