Making your way on to somebody’s hit list is inevitable in Bethesda’s latest RPG. Having a bounty on your head is less than ideal, so you’ll want to remove it as soon as possible to continue your Starfield playthrough in peace.
A bounty is placed on your head for any illegal shenanigans that the game’s factions disapprove of. This leaves you prone to attacks from bounty hunters or you can simply be arrested if you’re caught by a security NPC.
How to remove a Starfield bounty
Bounties can be removed at Trackers Alliance Bounty Clearance Service machines. These can be found dotted around various planets, but you’ll have more luck by searching around the taverns and bars within the settlements. They’re usually situated right next to Mission Terminals.
Once you interact with the machine, follow the prompts on screen and you’ll be given the option to pay to get your bounty wiped off your record. The amount of credits you’ll need to hand over to remove your bounty typically matches the value of the bounty.
Depending on the type of crime you’ve committed, you could be faced with a hefty bill. Paying off a bounty for a little theft won’t break the bank, but if you decide to go on a killing spree, that’s another story.
It’s worth noting that bounties are only placed on you if you’re caught for your crimes. If you play it smart, you could just get away with it!
