Ubisoft has found themselves in hot water as they’re now permanently deleting accounts who are deemed to have been inactive for a while.
It is unknown how long your account has to be inactive for before Ubisoft take action, but you do have the chance to save your account from permanent closure.
Stop your Ubisoft account from being deleted
Twitter user, @PC_enjoyer shared a screenshot of an email they’d received from Ubisoft. The email informs the user that their inactive account has been temporarily suspended and they have 30 days to cancel its permanent closure.
The official Ubisoft Support Twitter account then responded with:
“Hey there. We just wanted to chime in that you can avoid the account closure by logging into your account within the 30 days (since receiving the email pictured) and selecting the Cancel Account Closure link contained in the email. We certainly do not want you to lose access to your games or account so if you have any difficulties logging in then please create a support case with us.”
Its worth noting that many services delete inactive accounts after a certain timeframe, partly due to data protection regulations.
Losing your Ubisoft purchases is something you definitely want to avoid. If you get an email warning you of the potential closure of your account, make sure you follow the instructions to cancel your account closure, or you’re at risk of losing your games forever.
