Bethesda are preparing to release their first new universe in over 25 years, Starfield. With over 1,000 planets to explore, your very own ship to pilot and deep character customisation, all this is sure to take up a lot of space on your hard drive. Whether you’ll be playing on Xbox or PC, we’ve got everything you need to know about Starfield’s download size.
Starfield is a prime example of how big modern AAA games are becoming, even with the absence of multiplayer.
What is the Starfield download size?
To download Starfield on Xbox and PC, you’ll need 125GB of available space. Post-launch, the game is only set to get bigger, as it has been confirmed that there will be a DLC. In addition, there will be mod support, so PC players may have to sacrifice even more space.
Compared to other Bethesda titles, Starfield is approximately 10 times bigger than Skyrim and around 4 times larger than Fallout 4.
To help you tackle the hefty download size, you can begin preloading Starfield on your Xbox console or via the Xbox PC app. However, if you plan to play on Steam, you’ll have to wait until much closer to the release date to start your preload.
Now you know Starfield’s download size is set to be 125GB, you can plan accordingly before you launch into orbit on September 6.
