Here are the top 10 best Xbox games of 2023, according to Metacritic

Already, this year is proving to be a great year to be a gamer. While we wait for more games to be released, you can take a look at what is sat on the list of the top 10 best Xbox games of 2023.

If you aren’t familiar with how Metacritic works, it generates an average score for each game based on reviews across the internet. This allows us to get a good feel of how each title has shaped up with game critics.

Top 10 Xbox games of 2023, so far

Here are the titles that have made it into the top 10, sorted by Metascore. Its worth noting that games with less than 7 critic reviews are excluded from the list:

  3. Dead Space: 89
  4. Persona 4 Golden: 89
  5. Hogwarts Legacy: 87
  6. Hi-Fi Rush: 87

  8. Monster Hunter Rise: 87
  9. Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition: 86
  10. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: 85

Some huge releases that you might’ve expected to see on this list just missed out on a spot in the top 10 such as Dead Island 2, Wo: Long Final Fantasy, One Piece Odyssey and GhostWire: Tokyo.

Although this year has gotten off to a strong start, we have seen some disappointing releases. Perhaps the most notable is Redfall, but Minecraft Legends and Wanted: Dead are also among those that didn’t live up to expectations.
