CD Projekt Red warns The Witcher 4 beta invites are a scam

The Witcher 4 beta invites fake scam

Over the past day, players have been reporting that they have received an invite to what appears to be a beta test for The Witcher 4 via email. CD Projekt Red has since taken to social media to confirm that the invites are fake.

The Witcher 4 is the highly anticipated upcoming entry to The Witcher series. It is a single-player, open-world RPG, where players take on the role of Ciri. Its reveal trailer was shown off to the world for the very first time at The Game Awards in 2024. In late 2024, the game went into its full-scale production phase, but players won’t get their hands on the full game until at least 2027.

A message from CD Projekt Red

The official The Witcher X account confirmed, “recently, we’ve been getting reports from some community members that they’ve been invited to a beta test of The Witcher 4 — this is a scam!”

“We’ve been taking the necessary steps to take this fraudulent messaging down. That said, if you receive any invites to or stumble upon news of one, we kindly ask you to report the scam using the tools available to you in your email client or the social media platform you are using.”

Although the current beta test emails aren’t real, the post signs off with, “should we ever organize any beta tests in the future, you will hear about it first, as always, via our official social media and websites.”

The chances are that any official details on what the developers have up their sleeves for The Witcher 4 are a long way away. In the meantime, consider checking out more of the latest news:
