Veteran Warzone players have been looking forward to the game’s third season. It’s thought that Verdansk will return to core battle royale modes. Now, a new video seemingly indicates that some of the most popular weapons from the Verdansk days will be usable again if the map does make its way back onto the scene.
In a video shared by the official Call of Duty X account for International Women’s Day, the CR-56 AMAX and Kilo 141 assault rifles made an appearance. Back in the Verdansk era, these were just a couple of weapons to feature in the long range meta and solidify themselves as fan favourites.
A blast from the past
The CR-56 AMAX and Kilo 141 placed in the hands of Operators in this video adds more fuel to the fire when it comes to the rumours that Verdansk will return as the main Warzone map in Season 3. Previous leaks have also pointed towards the Grau 5.56 assault rifle and HDR sniper rifle making a comeback, suggesting fans are truly in for a nostalgic ride.
The weapon pool hints within the International Women’s Day video isn’t the first official mention of the return of Verdansk. In just two days time, the Verdansk Collection will launch in the Call of Duty merchandise shop, just in time for the map’s fifth anniversary and potential re-release. It’s unclear what the Verdansk Collection will entail, but a teaser image shows a broken plane with the dam in the background.
Since Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 3 has been delayed to April 3, 2025, we will have to wait a little longer to see what exactly Activision has planned.
