Even games such as Rainbow Six Siege which turns ten years old this year has been experiencing ongoing issues with cheaters. Ubisoft has released a new anti-cheat update to continue targeting those that are trying to ruin the fun.
As technology develops, it seems that hackers evolve with it. However, Rainbow Siege Siege isn’t the only shooter to be plagued by cheaters. Call of Duty, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and Counter-Strike are just a few examples where cheaters are running rampant. Although all of those games take varying approaches to cheaters, neither title seems to be any closer to stamping out the problem once and for all.
Rainbow Six Siege hits back at hackers with latest anti-cheat updates
Ubisoft took to the Rainbow Six Siege X account to announce hardened penalties for botting, match cancellations when a cheater is detected, as well as further security updates.
Thanks to feedback from the community, “players will now be permanently banned on their first botting offense, rather than an initial 15-day ban followed by a permanent ban on the second offense. This stricter and more aggressive sanctioning has been made possible by an improved detection system that drastically reduces false positives.”
From this moment onwards, cheaters detected in a game will be kicked and the match will be cancelled. Additional security adjustments have been made to target major cheat providers with the hope of disrupting their services.
As the fight against hackers in Rainbow Six Siege rages on, only time will tell whether or not the anti-cheat updates function as intended. There’s no doubt that there’s more to come from Ubisoft in relation to cheaters, so be sure to stay tuned!
