Official render of the Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo has finally pulled the curtain back on its brand-new console, the Nintendo Switch 2. It comes after an influx of leaks that all but confirmed the Switch 2 and its look ahead of time. However, official word has now shown off the Switch 2 in a new light, as well as given a sneak peek at some upcoming features.

The all-new hybrid system will release in 2025. It features much of the same design cues as the original Nintendo Switch, albeit with a sleek, new all-black colourway that’s accented by the returning neon blue and neon red from the first iteration of the Switch. Overall, the new console is larger and sports some fresh physical features such as a redesigned kickstand and an extra button on the right Joy-Con, which also has a new mouse-like sensor.

Nintendo is expected to reveal the console’s price, its lineup of launch games and a release date during that presentation, along with an in-depth look at the new features.
