Assassin's Creed Shadows delayed to March

Assassin’s Creed fans were preparing for a Valentine’s Day treat when Assassin’s Creed Shadows was scheduled to launch on February 14, 2025. However, Shadows has now been delayed as Ubisoft takes more time to refine the next entry in the franchise.

Explore the captivating open world of feudal Japan with Assassin’s Creed Shadows. From castle towns, to shrines and of course, landscapes taken over by war, the world is expected to be full of dangers, hidden among the picturesque scenery. This will be further enhanced by unpredictable weather, changing seasons, and reactive environments.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows pushed back to March

The delay has been put down to receiving community feedback following various Assassin’s Creed Shadows gameplay overviews which Ubisoft are acting on.

In a statement posted on the official Assassin’s Creed X account, Ubisoft’s Marc-Alexis Côté explained “while we’ve already made remarkable strides, we believe a few additional weeks are needed to implement that feedback and ensure an even more ambitious and engaging day-one experience.”

Therefore, the new release date has been adjusted to March 20, 2025, just over a month after the previously announced date. Ubisoft are expected to share more updates in the near future.

While we wait for Ubisoft to spend some extra time polishing Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you can learn more about the revamped parkour system that was recently detailed in a new blog post. Players can expect fresh input mapping and movement mechanics, whether you’re playing as Naoe or Yasuke.

On March 20, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will hit Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 storefronts, while PC players can jump in via the Ubisoft Store, Steam or the Epic Games Store.
