Content Warning receives its “last patch for a while”

content warning update today

When Content Warning first hit Steam back in April, it was temporarily free to keep. This, along with its focus on co-op saw an influx of players entering the Old World in an attempt to become SpookTube famous. Content Warning has received a new patch, but it’s expected to be the final update for a long time.

By no means is this the end of Content Warning. In fact, the game could be preparing to roll out on more platforms, allowing more players than ever to hunt monsters and run for their lives. All we can do is hope that crossplay will become a feature with the launch of a console port.

Content Warning patch notes (July 29)

Here’s the full breakdown of the small update that’s now live.

Added

  • New purchasable items, “Sketch Pad”
  • New matchmaking options for spoken languages
  • Additional LODs for slightly better GPU performance on older GPUs

Fixed

  • Issues with infinite loading
  • Additional issues with video extraction failing
  • Issue with “hold the bomb” contract not being able to be fulfilled

The team behind the game consists of ThePetHen, Skog, Zorro, Wilnyl and Philip, who have other commitments to another project that they have been working on with another team since 2021. As a result, Content Warning will be taking a back seat when it comes to updates.

content warning final patch and console port

However, the developers “are looking into getting the game onto other platforms” and they hope to share more news about a port and the future of Content Warning before the end of the year.

The post signs off with a shout out to the modders who have been “working on fun mods and improvements for the game.”
