Castle Crashers to receive its first DLC in over a decade

castle crashers DLC and updates

The Xbox 360 indie gem, Castle Crashers first launched in 2008, with the game hitting Steam in 2012. The title instantly became a hit and has garnered a loyal fan base. Now, Castle Crashers is set to receive a paid DLC, bringing new content and art styles to the fight.

It’s worth noting that the upcoming Castle Crashers DLC will release on PC only via Steam. With that being said, console owners still have a lot to look forward to.

Hacking and slashing never looked so good

The Castle Crashers Painter Boss Paradise DLC was revealed during a Behemoth Direct livestream and it will introduce a new character, Paint Junior.

Also, there will be a character creator that lets players design their very own knight skins. User generated content will be at the forefront of the expansion, allowing skins created by players to be shared on the Steam Workshop. All you have to do is upload your image to a template, select a magic power, and then start killing mobs as any character you choose.

However, that’s not all that was announced during the developer live stream. Elsewhere in The Behemoth universe, BattleBlock Theater will receive various quality of life updates to the Steam version, while the team are preparing a port for modern consoles. Alien Hominid HD and Alien Hominid Invasion are coming to PlayStation, and Pit People will see quality of life updates, too.
