Xbox Game Pass has a vast library of games for subscribers to download and play on Xbox consoles and PC. However, one of its biggest games, GTA 5 is set to leave Game Pass, alongside four other titles.
GTA 6 was revealed in December 2023 and at the time of writing, the trailer sits at 163 million views on YouTube. While fans wait for the highly anticipated sequel to arrive in 2025, GTA 5 is all we have to give us our criminal fix until then.
When will GTA 5 leave Xbox Game Pass?
According to Game Pass Tracker, GTA 5 will depart from Xbox Game Pass on January 15. It’s worth noting that both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions will leave, so no matter what generation you’re on, you don’t have long to complete your important business before your flight departs from Los Santos International Airport.
That’s not all as Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, Garden Story and MotoGP 22 will also be removed. It’s unknown if GTA 5 will return to the subscription service in the future, but considering its history with Game Pass, it can’t be completely ruled out.
In January 2020, GTA 5 had a short stint on Xbox Game Pass, being available to subscribers until May 2020. Similarly, 2021 saw the title return to Game Pass in April until the beginning of August. July 2023 saw the game re-added once again, now set to leave in just a few weeks time.
We’ll keep you updated if GTA 5 makes yet another Game Pass appearance.
