Activision ends support for Warzone Mobile

After just over a year since launch, Warzone Mobile is winding down as the developers move on from the experience. The servers will remain online, but updates are no longer.

When Warzone Mobile was first announced, the hype was definitely there, indicated by over 50 million players who pre-registered for the game. What made it stand out was the main map being Verdansk. This was the only Call of Duty game that the fan-favourite map was playable on until the map made its return to PC and consoles in April, 2025.

Lagging behind

First revealed via the official Warzone Mobile X account, Activision will be “streamlining the scope of the game,” due to the fact the game “has not met our expectations with mobile-first players like it has with PC and console audiences.”

The developers will no longer be delivering new seasonal content and gameplay updates to Warzone Mobile. Effective immediately, players will no longer be able to purchase Call of Duty Points or BlackCell using real currency in the mobile game. May 18, 2025 marks the final day the game can be downloaded from the Google Play and Apple App Store before the game is delisted.

Those that have the app installed before May 19, 2025 will still have access to the game with continued cross-progression of shared inventories using existing content, and servers with matchmaking for online play. Any unspent Call of Duty Points can continue to be redeemed towards in-game content.

While this may be a disappointment for Warzone Mobile fans, players can still get their on-the-go fix with Call of Duty Mobile which will continue to be supported and receive new content.
