Silent Hill f beta invites aren’t real, says Konami

silent hill f fake beta invites

It’s 1960s Japan, Shimizu Hinako’s secluded town of Ebisugaoka is engulfed by a sudden fog, turning what was her home into a living nightmare. The winding narrative is expected to unfold through solving puzzles and fighting monsters. Those who enjoy horror games are undoubtedly looking forward to Silent Hill f, but don’t be fooled by fake beta invites.

Silent Hill f isn’t the only game being targeted by scammers. Recently, fans of The Witcher were receiving emails that seemed to contain a beta invite to The Witcher 4. However, CD Projekt Red confirmed that they are fake and that they have been taking “necessary steps” to shut down the fraudulent invites.

Even scams hide beneath the fog

In a post on the official Silent Hill X account, Konami has “confirmed the existence of impersonation accounts on social media that are posting advertisements for fake events, including a closed beta test for “SILENT HILL f,” and directing users to fake sites where they will be asked to enter personal information.”

Players are also warned that “even if “KONAMI,” “SILENT HILL f” or similar names are used in the page design or URL, or if officially released designs such as key visuals are used, they are in no way related to our company.”
