Those wishing for more Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP are in luck as a Nightmare Mode will give fans an excuse to return to the action.
Indicated by Gematsu, the content update which is scheduled for an unannounced date in April 2025, adds a fresh mode and abilities to use as you slay your way through the undead.
Another challenge awaits
Nightmare Mode is a new way to play Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, where Juliet awakens as a legendary zombie hunter. The mode becomes available to play after achieving a good ending in either Original Mode or RePOP Mode.
In Nightmare Mode, you will be taken to San Romero High School within Juliet’s dream. The format shares similarities with the Original Mode, as the game progresses stage by stage, starting from the prologue.
In Nightmare Mode, the following eight Awakening Items can be used to enhance Juliet’s abilities:
- High-Power Dumbbells – Increases attack power
- Speed Armband – Increases attack speed
- Winged Sneakers – Increases movement speed
- Power Engine – Increases chainsaw movement speed
- Smart Chip – Speeds up Sparkle Hunting effects
- Chain Motor – Speeds up slicing QTEs
- High-Speed Loader – Increases blaster fire rate
- Special Backpack – Increases max ammo capacity
High-Power Dumbbells and Speed Armband will be available at the start of Nightmare Mode. The rest of the items can be purchased from the in-game shop within the mode.
By making it all the way to Stage 6, players can obtain the legendary zombie hunter skill known as Aura of Legend. This ability enlarges Juliet’s chainsaw and expands its attack range.
Also, the new awakened abilities are useable in other modes and players can toggle their effects on or off from the options menu in Original Mode, RePOP Mode, and Time Attack.
