It’s been a long time coming, but Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 will finally become playable on Xbox later this month. The frights that lie within the world of Poppy Playtime are not for the faint hearted, while problem solving and survival is important for completing your objective.
The indie horror game made its debut on PC in October of 2021. It went on to get a PlayStation and Nintendo Switch release, but never hit Microsoft’s family of consoles. Therefore, it’s hardly surprising that Xbox owners are getting their turn, but not many expected this long of a wait.
The GrabPack goes green
The team behind Poppy Playtime has now confirmed via a trailer that Chapter 1 will join the Xbox library on July 12. As expected, the trailer doesn’t show off anything new, but it’s a solid taster for newcomers. The game will be available to pick up for $4.99.
The story begins at Playtime Co, once the most dominant toy manufacturer in the industry until everybody inside of the factory one day disappeared. It’s your task to explore the factory and uncover the truth. On the way, you’ll be faced with puzzles and a roster of evil toys.
When it comes to horror games, indie developers have been taking over the genre. Due to the success of the first instalment of Poppy Playtime, a second and third Chapter were released. However, these are yet to expand their horizons beyond Steam, so it’s unclear if they’ll also roll out on Xbox.
