Brew up a storm with the Cars & Coffee update in Forza Horizon 5

Coffee shop in Forza Horizon 5.

For the latest summer-themed update to Forza Horizon 5, Playground Games is inviting players to take a load off and relax with a nice cup of coffee paired with some car meets (a returning feature from Forza Horizon 2.)

The Cars & Coffee update adds a trendy new coffee shop to the map, fit for photo ops and showing off your wheels.

Cream and carburetors

The new coffee shop location has been purpose-built for taking advantage of Forza Horizon 5’s tricked-out photo mode. Not only is there a drive-thru and various murals (old and new) for dramatic backdrops, but there’s even a useable photo studio on the inside that offers a clean white background. At night, special lights will illuminate the scene for extra depth and effect.

Players who ride in a Convoy can also take advantage of the three platforms in the coffee shop that are available for group shots and meet-ups.

That’s not all, as there are new coffee-themed props in the Eventlab that creators can use to serve up some new tracks and custom-built photo scenes.

Aroma de Festival Playlist

Of course, this new Forza Horizon 5 update is more than just the coffee shop; there are five new cars to collect as rewards in the Festival Playlist. It’s an interesting mix of modern speedsters and rare vintage rides.

The 1973 Volkswagen Thing (yes, that’s the name) is the oldest of the bunch. It’s an air-cooled, outdoor explorer that first started life as a German military truck. It’s joined by the 1976 Volkswagen SP-2, a fellow example of classic German engineering. Interestingly enough, however, it was actually built in Brazil as a locally-produced race car by VW Brazil. It bumps up the small number of Latin American cars in the game.

Festival Playlist reward cars in the Cars & Coffee Update for Forza Horizon 5

The 2017 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Coupe brings it back to the modern era with some serious horsepower in tow. Rocking a 6.0 litre V12 engine, it’s easily a car meant to conquer Street Scene events. The 2021 Lamborghini Aventador LP is yet another mean machine joining the ranks in this update, sporting a V12 of its own that spits out 789 horsepower.

Finally, the 2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF injects some Japanese delight into the mix. It’s a recreation of the iconic Miata of the past, keeping the convertible DNA with a modern body and modest 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine. Like any good JDM, it can be turned into a drift monster with some tuning.

Jewels from Japan

Speaking of Japanese automobiles, the new paid-DLC car pack releasing alongside this update is the JDM Jewels Car Pack.

It contains four iconic 90s-era vehicles from the country, including the 91 Toyota Sera, 93 Autozam AZ-1, 97 Mitsubishi Montero Evolution, and 97 Nissan Stagea RS Four V. This new Car Pack as well as the rest of the Cars & Coffee update will go live on July 16. The full list of changes and bug fixes can be found on the main Forza site.
