Starfield is about to get even bigger with the upcoming Shattered Space expansion, the game’s first DLC. Before you gear up for your next story adventure, you can get a taste of what is to come with the Shattered Space trailer which was revealed at Xbox Games Showcase 2024.
“A mysterious power stirs in the city of Dazra on House Va’Ruun’s hidden homeworld. Investigate a frightening cosmic threat, explore a new planet, and find unique weapons, spacesuits, and gear in this all-new adventure.”
Additionally, Bethesda announced that a new update will launch in the Starfield base game tonight, introducing a Creator Kit, gear, and more. An exact time frame and contents are yet to be revealed, but we can expect to learn more sooner, rather than later.
The trailer begins by stating that a stress call has been received from an unknown Star Station. Upon arrival, there are dead astronauts and various mysteries to uncover. Some of the environments are shown off, as well as a transparent spider-like enemy.
Players are told that the Great Serpent will decide your fate. This is a deity in Starfield. Believers in the Great Serpent call themselves the Promised, they believe the Great Serpent consume the universe, sparing the Promised and keeping them by its side.
The Starfield Shattered Space story expansion will roll out this year, but no specific date has yet been detailed. It can be purchased separately, or you’ll get access to it if you pre-ordered either the Premium or Constellation editions of Starfield.
The DLC will be available to play on Xbox Series X/S consoles and PC.
