Earlier this year, it was announced that Lost Ark would connect servers to allow more players to take on Arkesia together and make multiplayer smoother. The move which was expected to be made in the summer of this year will not go ahead as planned.
There’s plenty of new content to look forward to in Lost Ark, outlined by the 2024 roadmap. Included is the highly anticipated release of Echidna into the world, something the team has also touched on in this community update.
NA West have a longer wait ahead
The previously announced server update has been experiencing some hiccups, specifically in NA West.
Smilegate explains that:
“For NA West, we are still searching the best solution to ensure the lowest latency possible for all players. Unfortunately, we found issues that would prevent a good customer experience during the extensive testing we conducted. Identifying an optimal outcome will take time, and this merge will not take place in Summer of 2024.”
The merge between South America and NA East will go ahead on June 5, 2024. A new release date for when NA West will join the rest of the regions hasn’t yet been confirmed, as the developers “have not yet identified a path” to do so without problems.
In addition, after Echidna was partially revealed a number of years ago, the character name was changed to figure related to Mythology, Ladon. The team has been “reviewing Echidna’s presentation in Lost Ark and reading through community feedback, we agree that the name Echidna is best suited.” You’ll encounter Echidna when the Kazeros Raid arrives in June 2024.
We’ll update you when there’s a date set in stone for when NA West will join the Lost Ark server merge.
