First appearing in Chapter 2 Season 2 which is now over four years ago, is Fortnite’s most infamous villain, Midas. If you weren’t playing Fortnite back in the year 2020, or you just need a reminder, this guide has all you need to know about Midas so you can brush up on your Fortnite lore!
Midas was once the ruler of an unknown kingdom, but the reason for his fall from power remains hidden away. He’s the founder of SHADOW and GHOST companies, both of which are spy and military factions that aim to conquer and cause chaos on the island.
The master manipulator has the ability to turn objects, people, and even himself to gold. This ability can be controlled and he can even turn himself to gold. His signature weapon is the Drum Gun which you won’t be surprised to hear is also covered in gold.
Despite his criminal traits and revengeful nature, Midas loves his daughter Jules and respects his associates. Included are Meowscles and Marigold, among others with a taste of destruction.
Why is Midas back in Fortnite?
Apart from featuring in the Chapter 2 Season 2 battle pass, Midas was a boss in battle royale modes. Since then, he has made a few appearances, but he has mainly been operating in secret. However, in Chapter 4 Season 4, Midas lost a battle to Thorn, the leader of the Eclipse. As a result, Midas was sent to The Underworld.
Possessing high intelligence and leadership qualities, it’s surprising that it took Midas until Chapter 5 Season 2 to break out of his jail cell in The Underground and escape. A special quest line is now live which tasks you with helping Midas flee the island once and for all.
