The Finals came out of the gates swinging, getting a surprise launch at the Game Awards and quickly rising the ranks to become one of the most popular free-to-play shooters on the market. The Finals is unique in the way that you’re free to rip apart a fully destructible environment with your squad and accumulate fans in order to make a name for yourself on the world’s biggest stage. If you’ve experienced some issues along the way, Embark Studios has rolled out an update to iron out a handful of kinks in The Finals.
The first Season 1 patch has arrived and it makes various gameplay and quality of life fixes. In addition, the arena has officially opened up for those in Oceania and South Asia as new servers have landed in those regions.
The Finals December 15 update
Here are the full patch notes:
- You can now see your actual position in the leaderboards once you have played a ranked match.
- Changed requirements for unranked tournaments from 12 to 6 matches
- The Recent tab in the social screen is now working
- Fixed some crash instances
- Animation improvements to movement feel to get closer to the OB experience
- Fixed a bug where some doors in Vegas would open in the wrong direction
- Hold interactions that are started while moving will no longer be interrupted prematurely
- OCE and SA Server Regions are selectable on all platforms
