Fuelled by horror and murder, Alan Wake 2 takes fans to Bright Falls, a small town surrounded by Pacific Northwest wilderness. If you’re a PC player that wants to spiral into the nightmares of Alan Wake 2, you may be wondering why the title isn’t appearing on Steam.
Steam is the go-to platform for playing and purchasing games among the majority of PC users. However, exclusivity deals can stop games from hitting certain storefronts either for a limited-time or in some cases, permanently.
Will Alan Wake 2 be on Steam?
Alan Wake 2 will not launch on Steam and it’s highly unlikely that it will ever make its way to Valve’s platform. Instead, PC players must purchase the game through the Epic Games Store. Since Epic Games are the publishers of Alan Wake 2, it doesn’t come as a surprise that they want to make the highly anticipated sequel exclusive to their platform.
Although the original Alan Wake and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare are both available to add to your Steam library, these titles were published by Remedy Entertainment and Microsoft Studios. In 2020, Epic Games took over the distribution rights, with Alan Wake Remastered also being tied to the Epic Games Store since it launched in 2021.
Alan Wake 2 is priced at £39.99/$49.99 on the Epic Games Store. If you place a pre-order, you’ll also get access to:
- Ornate Revolver Skin for Alan
- Survival Resources Pack for Saga
- Oh Deer Diner Sweater
