Forza Motorsport has only been out for a few days at this point, but the team over at Turn 10 Studios has already made haste to address some concerns and bugs that the community spotlighted right out of the gate.
The first update for Forza Motorsport, aptly titled Update 1.0, has already hit servers across the Xbox Series X|S, Windows, and Steam editions.
Progression reflections
Update 1.0 contains changes and fixes both large and small. Perhaps one of the biggest is that of the adjustments made to the game’s car part unlock system. There have been a wide array of complaints about it from critics and regular players alike, with the general consensus being that it takes very long to level up and access upgrade options for each car.
This new system is a big departure from how upgrades were handled in past entries of both Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon, so its grind-heavy implementation has not been taken to very well by players. That said, Turn 10 has now changed it to where “most car parts should now be unlocked within a single Builders Cup series,” according to the patch notes.
Additionally, “improvements to ensure Car Affinity manufacturer reward discounts are unlocked when intended—once a player reaches Car Level 50 in a car from the respective brand.”
Looking further under the hood
Beyond these changes made to the game’s progression system, Forza Motorsport’s Update 1.0 also has applied fixes to the game’s stability across all platforms, squashing some crash-triggering bugs. Multiplayer bugs have also been addressed, as is also the case with the livery editor, a few tracks, and various other areas.
As there are quite a lot of changes, you can view all of the nitty-gritty details of Update 1.0 for Forza Motorsport over on the official Forza Support website.
