The wait is finally over for fans of the Alan Wake franchise as the highly anticipated sequel has now dropped. For returning players, there’s a lot of lore and connections to dive into, but newcomers can enjoy the game all the same, as it was intentionally set up as a stand-alone experience. If you can’t get enough of what Alan Wake 2 has to offer so far, Remedy Entertainment has shared some information about two DLCs they’ve been working on.
The first expansion will be known as Night Springs and the second has been fittingly named The Lake House.
Alan Wake 2 has two planned DLCs
In an FAQ page all about Alan Wake 2, the following details were shared about the upcoming expansions:
Expansion 1 – Night Springs
- Visions and dreams. Fiction is written and coming true. Fiction collapses and remains just words on a page. These are those stories… in Night Springs.
- Play as several familiar characters from the world of Alan Wake and experience the unexplainable in multiple self-contained episodes of Night Springs, a fictional tv-show set in the world of Alan Wake.
Expansion 2 – The Lake House
- The Lake House is a mysterious facility situated on the shores of Cauldron Lake set up by an independent government organization to conduct secret research… until something goes wrong.
- Explore the Lake House and embark on two separate adventures as the realities of Saga Anderson and Alan Wake collide again.
Both DLCs will be paid expansions, but their price and release date are unknown.
Post-launch, Alan Wake 2 will also get a New Game+ mode called The Final Draft, as well as a Photo mode. Those release dates are yet to be determined.
Alan Wake 2 is out now on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
