Sledgehammer Games is getting ready to launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. We already know some of the maps that’ll be available to play, as well as details surrounding a beta, but all will be revealed at Call of Duty NEXT on October 5. To prepare for MW3, you may want to know if your remaining CoD points will transfer over to the upcoming entry in the Call of Duty franchise.
CoD points are the in-game currency used to purchase operator skins, weapon blueprints, and various other cosmetics and bundles. Activision has already confirmed that your MW2 skins and cosmetics won’t go to waste as they’ll move over to MW3, but does the same apply to your CoD points?
Do CoD points transfer over to Call of Duty: MW3?
Your CoD points will transfer to the new game, as long as you’re playing MW3 on the same platform as you play MW2. If you played MW2 on PlayStation, but you plan to play MW3 on PC, for example, your points won’t transfer over to PC.
As long as you’re on the same platform, you won’t have to take any extra steps to move your CoD points over to MW3. When you first load up the game, your CoD points should automatically be there and ready to spend in the store.
Now you know your CoD points won’t go to waste with the launch of MW3, you’ll be able to browse the new store when the game drops on November 10.
