Heisters can now hop into a world of crime with PAYDAY 3. However, the game has got off to a rocky start. The CEO over at Starbreeze has issued an apology over PAYDAY 3‘s server status at launch
PAYDAY 3 is the highly anticipated sequel to PAYDAY 2 which launched 10 years ago. Due to its popularity and the fact that it became available on Game Pass from day 1, it’s no wonder that the servers were put under a huge amount of pressure.
Getting the servers back on track
Starbreeze CEO, Tobias Sjögren, issued an apology on X (formerly Twitter.)
The post reads:
“We are so sorry that the infrastructure didn’t hold up as expected, and although it’s impossible to prepare for every scenario – we should be able to do better. We work tirelessly until we have restored all services and our players can get back to heisting again without issues!”
During an open beta that took place earlier this month, players were encourage to take part in 2 server slams. This event sees players log into the game at the same time and essentially try to break the servers. Despite their best efforts, it appears that this didn’t help polish up the servers ahead of launch.
The developers have already published their post-launch roadmap which is full of content and includes 4 DLCs in Year 1. As more features are added, all we can do is hope that the PAYDAY 3 servers hold up going forward.
