Naming your ship is just one of many ways you can make it feel like home. If you regret your original ship name, or you just fancy something new, you can change the name of your ship before you begin your next Starfield mission.
From designing your own ship to changing your character’s appearance, and even VASCO being able to your name, Starfield isn’t short on customisation options.
How to rename your Starfield ship
To change the name of your ship, all you have to do is:
- Speak with a Ship Service Technician
- From the list of dialogue options, choose “I’d like to view and modify my ships”
- Open up the “Ship Builder” using the prompt at the bottom right of your screen
- Navigate to the “Flight Check” menu
- Select “Rename Ship” and type in your ship’s new name in the pop up box
- Click “Confirm” to save your changes
A Ship Service Technician can be found at all major cities, near a landing/launch pad. The first technician you’re likely to encounter when you first begin your playthrough will be located at the New Atlantis pad. The technician will be stood directly under a sign, indicating “Ship Services.”
Giving your ship a fresh name isn’t all that a Ship Service Technician can do. In exchange for 1,000 credits they can repair your ship when damaged. Moreover, they’re your first point of contact for making upgrades to your ship, providing a flight check, and much more.
