Civilization 6 has a whole host of leaders, all equipped with their own abilities. You may be wondering which leaders are the most-played among fans. We have the answer to that very question and it may not be who you expect.
The Leader Pass made choosing who you want to play as even more difficult by introducing some new faces to the roster. Elizabeth I and Queen Mbande Nzinga were among them, as well as Suleiman the Magnificent, Wu Zetian and many more.
Civilization 6 most-played leaders
The most popular leaders are as follows:
- Yongle
- Lincoln
- Tokugawa
Yongle has been crowned as the most-played Civilization 6 leader since the Leader Pass went live. Yongle has some powerful bonuses that boost all areas of your gameplay. His Lijia project allows you to convert production into food, faith, or gold. As the population of your cities grow, these bonuses only continue to get stronger.
In addition, the Dynastic Cycle results in Eurekas and Inspirations providing an extra 10% science and culture cost, while completing a wonder grants a Eureka and an Inspiration from the era that wonder belongs to.
Not only that, but Yongle is a charismatic guy. He’s used in various memes among the Civ community in the form of the infamous “Live Yongle Reaction” image and as a wide, stretched out version. It seems a sprinkle of personality can go a long way.
If you aren’t a fan of Yongle, Lincoln and Tokugawa made it into the top 3 most-played Civilization 6 leaders. Representing America, Lincoln requires an entirely different strategy to that of Roosevelt. Lincoln’s main advantages are loyalty and free units provided by Industrial Zones. As for Tokugawa, the alternate Japanese leader allows you to grow your Empire through trade routes.
Remember, the most popular leaders are measured from when the Leader Pass launched which was approximately 2 months ago. As for the overall standings, its likely that Yongle sits at the top of that list, too. After all, he was announced as the most popular leader at launch in Civilization history.
