Microsoft has announced a new friend referral program which allows you to invite your friends to a 14 day free trial of Xbox Game Pass. You can invite up to five friends to try out the service, so if you have a friend in mind that you want to share Xbox Game Pass with, this guide will show you exactly how.
Its important to note that you can only refer a friend if you have the PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Also, whoever you invite must not be a previous Game Pass subscriber because the free trial can only be claimed by those that are new to it.
How to share Xbox Game Pass on PC and console
There are two ways you can invite your friends to try out Xbox Game Pass:
Through the Xbox website:
- Visit the Xbox Game Pass website and log in
- Navigate to the Xbox Game Pass codes (there should be five of them)
- Copy the code and send it to a friend for them to redeem
Through the Xbox app on Windows:
- Open the Xbox app on your PC and locate the home screen
- There will be a button labelled “Give PC Game Pass”
- Click the button and select the friend you want to give the code to
When your friend redeems the code you shared with them, they’ll be granted complete access to Xbox Game Pass for 14 days. Once you’ve used all five of your referral codes, you won’t receive any more until they reset.
