A fresh set of weekly challenges have arrived in Fortnite and one of them asks you to purchase an item from either Dahlia or Styx. Both NPCs joined the game when the Chapter 4 Season 2 update went live. You’ll have the challenge ticked off your list in no time with the help of this guide.
Epic Games continue to add new NPCs around the island for you to meet and buy various items from. The majority of NPCs stay in fixed locations, so you may need help tracking them down if you aren’t familiar with the spawns.
How to purchase an item from Dahlia or Styx in Fortnite
Dahlia can be found inside the building beside Crude Harbour, the landmark north of Brutal Bastion. If you want to pay Styx a visit, this NPC can be found inside a small hut to the east of Anvil Square. We’ve marked their exact locations on the map below:
Its recommended that you land at Dahlia’s location since they spawn towards the edge of the map, meaning you’re unlikely to come face to face with too much opposition. If the battle bus route doesn’t allow for this drop, you can always visit Styx or see if you get lucky in your next match.
Once you’ve found the relevant NPC, all you have to do is interact with them and buy an item. Both Dahlia and Styx sell high tier loot, so you’re going to need at least 400 gold bars on hand. If you’re short on gold bars, you can loot chests, search cash registers, or crack open a safe to increase your reserves.
As soon as you’ve purchased an item from Dahlia or Styx, the Fortnite challenge will be marked as complete and you’ll be awarded with 12,000 XP towards your battle pass.
